We’ve got some huge news to share!
We’re always looking for new ways to mix things up and make our course the most unique and exciting in Melbourne and we’ve asked past participants what they think.
So, we have some exciting new changes to the event in 2019.
For the first time ever, the Short course route will include the Bolte Bridge.
The Bolte Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in Melbourne. The bridge has been a favourite part of the long course route since 2006, but until now, we’ve never been able to share the experience with short course entrants.
Thanks to the support of our fabulous event partner Transurban, every entrant that participates in Run for the Kids in 2019 will run, jog or walk over the Bolte, and enjoy spectacular views of Melbourne.
In order to achieve this change, the start and finish locations, including all the fun and frivolity of the Event Village, will be relocating to Docklands. This relocation, along with later start times for both the long and short course events, will also make the event much more accessible for entrants travelling from regional Victoria, while at the same time ensuring that the start and finish lines continue to be well serviced by public transport.
There are also changes to the long course route. The new long course route will also start in Harbour Esplanade and join the WestGate Freeway and head across the Bolte Bridge, exiting CityLink just before the sound tunnel and running past the Royal Children’s Hospital, before returning to Docklands via Latrobe Street.
Registrations will open at MIDDAY on January 16, so save the date and be ready to register!
