14.6Km Course – $55

 

 Long Course start time: 8.30am

The Long Course starts in Alexandra Avenue and runs through the Domain Tunnel and over the Bolte Bridge. Exiting CityLink at Footscray Road, the route takes in New Quay and Harbour Esplanade through Docklands, before heading back towards the CBD via Collins Street.

The course turns right into Spencer Street, and continues over the Yarra River turning left along the Promenade at Crown, crossing Queensbridge Street and proceeding down the waterfront at Southbank.

Runners will pass Hamer Hall, and continue under Princes Bridge, along Boathouse Drive, turning through the Alexandra Gardens into a short uphill section along Petticoat Lane to enter St Kilda Road. Once on St Kilda Road, the course continues south along St Kilda Road, before turning into Linlithgow Avenue and through the finish line,

14.6km Cut off points

The cut off point is located at the beginning of the Bolte Bridge circular access ramp. Any participants not reaching this point by 10.35am, will be transported by bus to the Aid station at Pearl River Road, Harbour Town.

If you are unable to complete 10km in between 75 minutes and two hours we strongly advise you to join in the fun and take on the 4.8km challenge. This will prevent any disappointment at failing to meet the cut off times.

14.6km Start Areas

Please assemble in Alexandra Avenue in the appropriate colour zone for your race bib. Please ensure you arrive in plenty of time for your allocated start time.

Blue zone – Start Time -8.30am

For active runners who can complete 10km in under 50 minutes and intend to race against the clock. These participants will have a blue race number and should assemble at the start line in Alexandra Avenue in the blue zone located immediately behind the start line. Note: there will be an area at the front of the Blue Zone for preferred start entrants and wheelchair athletes to assemble..

Yellow zone – Start Time – 8.40am

For semi-serious runners who intend to run the whole distance. These participants will have a yellow race number and should assemble in the yellow zone located behind the blue zone in Alexandra Avenue no later than 8.20am to prepare for a 8.40am start.

Orange zone – Start Time – 8.40am

For semi-active and casual runners and joggers who will try to run or jog the whole way These participants will have an orange race number and should assemble in the orange zone, located behind the yellow zone in Alexandra Avenue no later than 8.20am to prepare for a 8.40am start

Red zone- Start Time – 8.50am

For entrants who want to participate for fun by themselves or in a group with children and who may walk some of the way. Long Course entrants with prams MUST enter in this zone. These participants will have a red race number and should assemble in the red zone located behind the orange zone in Alexandra Avenue.

 

Start line

The start line for both events is in Alexandra Avenue. All participants are advised to plan ahead and get to the event at least 45 minutes before the start of their event. If you are coming by car, please note road closures. There is limited parking in the immediate vicinity and you will need to allow time to walk to the start line.

Please line up at the start in the colour zone you have chosen. You can move into a slower zone if you wish, but not a faster zone. Slow runners, walkers and those running with pushers or wheelchairs should assemble at the rear of the start line – see above for more details on start zones.

Your time will be recorded when you cross the start line, NOT when the start signal is given. This ensures you will be given an accurate time for the event you have entered.

You are strongly advised to use public transport where timetables allow you to arrive in time for the start. Metro Trains have scheduled additional trains to allow competitors to get to the start with plenty of time to spare

 Late Starters

If you are entered in the long course race and arrive after the last person has crossed the start line, you will not be able to compete in the long course race.
The long course start will close at 9.15am. No further entrants will be permitted to start the event after this time
